Governor Brown’s new restrictions could see people arrested in their own home for eating Thanksgiving dinner.

Tootie Smith Chairwoman Clackamas Commissioners

Governor Brown’s new restrictions state that for Thanksgiving no more than two families may gather no more than six people. Some politicians are speaking out against it. Recently one of those was Tootie Smith. Tootie Smith serves as a chairwoman for the Clackamas County Board of Commissioners. (Video link)

In a statement Brown says law enforcement may choose to uphold it or not. All though as a State Governor she does not make Laws she would like her restrictions enforced as if they are.

We spoke with many law-enforcement agencies this morning across Oregon who said they would absolutely not think about going into someone’s home and arresting them for eating dinner with guests against restrictions. They also stated large groups have been seen at bowling alleys and malls across Oregon as more likely an issue than private homes.

Governor Brown however has doubled down and asked law-enforcement to even stricter enforcement of her restrictions not limited to arresting people in their home for having dinner on Thanksgiving.

So far Governor Brown refused return to comment on her restrictions or asking for stricter enforcement of them.

It is unclear who Brown wants to see arrested property owner/residents or their family/guests.

It’s a sad day for Oregon when being with family and loved ones on a Holiday could have you arrested at the insistence of Governor Brown.

  1. Once again Governor Brown is over the top crazy. She was asked on a KGW News interview if she wanted neighbors to turn in neighbors and she said “yes”. This rings of communism and is reminicent of Hitler in WWll. I realize she claims it is a health protection issue and this might pass the smell test if she restricted “black friday” or had called in the national guard to quell the Portland riots that went on for months. Hundreds of rioters didn’t seem to be a problem with Covid in her apparent view but having Thanksgiving dinner with family is dangerous.
